Sculptures

The clay and bronze sculptures are created from a mould that resembles a slowly detaching drop of water. Water, symbol for the source of life, vitality and fertility, transforms into the shape of a female body. Formed from the hand, flattering the hand, fitting into the hand, first the round and smooth surface.

The closed form is sometimes broken, split open. A hint of decay, of experienced injuries is reflected in the body of the figures. But the loss of smoothness and cohesiveness is matched with a gain: the figures become tension-filled and multi-layered; they reveal a view that allows an insight into the self beneath the mere surface.
