Circles of Life – Earth Antenna 3
The “Earth antenna III” (clay, 2.80 m, 100 kg) was created during a three-day working stay in the monastery of Willebadessen.
The accompanying motif during the work was the poem “Lebensringe” (Circles of Life) by Rainer Maria Rilke, the text of which is carved into the sculpture following the shape of a spiral.
During the work, MATRE discovered that a hawk was perpetually residing on the opposite roof.
For the installation Circles of Life, some of the clay segments of the sculpture were placed in the room. In a spiral shape, ever larger saw blades lie there.
und ich kreise jahrtausendelang;
Rainer Maria Rilke
